Who is looking after us?

To everybody out there who thinks that Australia is the land of milk honey. Well we still get ripped off by Insurance companies just like the rest of the world.

Remember the floods we had during January, well there are still many people out there waiting for the Insurance Companies to pay up. In many case people are living in tents, cars and where possible in what remains of their houses.

One lady had to wait 7 months before they came to visit her just to see what the problem was.

They are quick to take our money but slow to pay out, if you are lucky enough to be paid.

Shame on the lot of you.

Here We Go Again

Only a couple of days ago our government announced that they were going to bring in a Carbon Tax.

Then today they have also announced that it will create 31,000 jobs.

I guess they will be government bureaucrats who are about to set up a paper trail that will just go round and around and around,  as is normal with all new government taxes.

While we the general public will be the big loser as our pockets are systematically drained, allowing big business and the government to become richer.

This in the Governments case is a little sad, as the Labor party has never been able to hang on to their money and run in the black.

Two Rules Revisited

Re-visiting my earlier blog about the young lady who lives in Melbourne and has been condemned to die by the government because they will not help her out with the costly purchase of drugs that are known to cure her medical condition.

I’ve just had a thought. If she were taken to court and given a prison sentence, it’s the prisons responsibility to keep its prisoners alive no matter what the cost.

Are you thinking what I am, gee that would put the cat amongst the pigeons.

And I’m wondering what their response would be?

Two Rules

One rule for some, with another rule for others.

Whenever any of our citizens are traveling around the world and get into trouble, be it stranded with no money, being arrested for a crime, or trapped by some disaster, our Government officials in the local Embassies are by law compelled, quite rightfully so, to help these people in any way they can, and in some cases at great cost to our government.

However, I saw a young lady from Victoria on the television a few months ago who was dying of a very rare disease, and that to save her life she required some wonder drug that cost around $70,000.00 a year as treatment. What the young lady required was for the government to help her with the cost.

Suddenly the rules have changed and she was not given any financial help. It was left up to her to find the money or Die. What a choice and burden to place upon a young person.

The television article went on to say that local people were trying to raise enough money so that she could get to America where its hope she can be treated and saved.

At the end of the day I’m wondering if these so called people who are elected into government to serve us the people, are just a load of heartless bastards.

Lead by Example

I’ve noticed that President Obama and his government have told the leaders of Tunisia, Egypt and Libya that they should respect their citizen’s human rights.

However, earlier in his administration he promised the people of America that he would closed down ‘Guantanamo Bay’ where Americans were depriving others of their human rights

A case of one law for some and another law for others.

Sadly, most world leaders seem to have forgotten that good leaders lead by example.

History Remembers

Looking back at the 2011 Brisbane floods I can’t help thinking that the Mayor of the city Campbell Newman is not getting the full recognition and credit he so rightfully deserve. I  and I’m sure you can remember him on the television during December 2010 telling a reporter that in his opinion he believed that weather conditions were developing that could eventually lead to a repeat of the 1974 flood disaster. In fact he went as far as to say that it worried him so much that he had cancelled his Christmas break holidays in order to be on call in the City if problems were to arise.

Well we all know that he was correct and to his credit just like he said he was able to immediately activate rescue plans for the people of Brisbane, and fair credit to him for what he did.

However, it now seems that Anna Bligh is taking all the credit, when all she did was to act on information her advisors gave her. In fact had it been you or I in her position we would have been able to put the same plans into action, as we would have been given the same information from the government advisors.  I have to also add that she still went on her holidays. When she took over the reins at State government level Campbell was way ahead of her.

When our future generations read the history of the event, I’m sure that Campbell Newman will be remembered as the main instigator of the city’s rescue effort.

While after another expected possibly ten year drought that will eventually happen, Anna Bight will be remembered as the person who allowed the gas mining companies in the state to pollute with toxic waste our vast underground natural water supply rendering it un-drinkable.

Are our politians habitual, compulsive liars

Are our government’s habitual, compulsive liars, and do not give a stuff about the people they are supposed to represent, as long as they can extort money from them.

We were constantly fed deliberate miss information while they deregulated our industries, being told that we would be better off as it would lead to competition. What a load of CRAP, we all know that it led to massive price increases, while our wages never kept up with what it cost us to run the average house hold.

One of these lies was the selling off of the power industry (Electricity).  We are now being told that during the next five years the price each house hold will have to pay will double. However it’s a good bet that our wages will never rice to keep up with it. So how are many of the households going to be able to cope? I could also add to this list the Water industry, same lie, we will all be better off, NO they are better off, once again we now face very large price hikes in the near future.

Not to mention what’s happened in the Banking and Petrol industries. Every time we start asking questions we are told that they will look into it, yeah yeah and pigs will fly. Nothing has or ever will be done.

ALL Politian’s are only in the job to milk it to the maximum for their own benefit, i.e. to try and serve as many years as possible for the massive pensions that the job attracts, and once they leave government  they are allowed to receive that pension straight away, after passing laws that prevent Joe Public the same  privilege. No, we have to wait until we retire, the same should apply to them. You don’t have a happy country unless everybody are treated the same. One rule equals one People.

It’s not that we can vote with our feet at the polling booth, what’s the point both parties are treating us the same.  And we can’t form another party to make changes.

Tony Abbott and his joint party slush fund saw to that when they successfully committed Pauline Hanson to prison, to prevent her from forming a new party and to run for government. It proves she was a direct threat to them, and that she might have been able to make changes. As for Joe Public trying to form a party and make changes, there’s not a chance.

However, in light of what’s happening around the world today in Tunisia, Egypt and now Libya, its being proven that people power is starting to have a voice and can achieve change.

It could be a warning to our Politian’s to start doing the job they were elected to do i.e. to look after the people they represent, or start looking over their shoulders.
